Looking Ahead to the 2009 Season
At a glance, ODC Theater's 2009 season will be a year of "intimate reveals."  We've mined the repertoires of some of our favorite artists for those treasured B-sides - lean, simple, elegant works without a ton of flash, but with twice the heart.  After a successful 2008 full of large-scale works and tightly packed Festivals presenting at Project Artaud Theater, we will return home to the ODC Campus in 2009, shining the spotlight on a remarkable new group of Artists in Residence who will be joining us for the next three years. As well, we will celebrate the matriculation of our first graduating class of Artists in Residence, whom you've all come to know and respect during their auspicious tenure from 2005-2008.

And we have some surprises in store, a wonderful and quite unexpected roster of guest artists from around the country will also grace our stage.  All performances will be held in the gorgeous ODC Dance Commons.  We look forward to welcoming our new Artists in Residence, many of whom you will see in our upcoming season.  They include: Catherine Galasso (dance theater), Raw Dance (modern dance), Holly Johnston/Ledges and Bones (modern dance), Shinichi Iova Koga/inkBoat (dance theater), Jacinta Vlach/Liberation Dance Theater,  Monique Jenkinson/Fauxnique (performance art), Christopher Winslow (musical theater/composition), Katie Faulkner/little seismic dance company (dance theater/dance film) and Paul Festa (documentary film).

ODC Theater also bids adieu to its graduating resident artists, who have been in residence since 2005. They have been cornerstones of ODC Theater's presenting here in San Francisco for three consecutive years, which is the term of their residency; additionally they have been ambassadors for ODC Theater and its community nationally and internationally.  These include LEVYdance, Motion Lab, Chris Black, Navarrete X Kajiyama Dance Theater, Dandelion Dance Theater, SHIFT>>>Physical Theater, KUNST-STOFF, Alex Ketley/The Foundry, sfSound Group, Lisa Townsend Dance Company, JoAnn Selisker, Mary Carbonara Dances, The Black Choreographers Festival, and Jack Perla/Music Without Walls.

We will be celebrating them all in 2009 and enjoying their works for years to come.  We welcome you to join us for what will be an exciting year of hands-on, face-to-face encounters with great dance, contemporary music, and theater at the ODC Dance Commons.
