ODC Performance : Philein/ZiRu Productions presents Seeking Resolve

Seeking Resolve encapsulates the imperative to be nimble and to adapt under the constraints of conflicting cultural expectations. This diverse evening of modern and contemporary dance showcases several world and US premieres. ZiRu Productions Artistic Director Philein Wang has invited four choreographers to join her on this fall's bill: Charles O. Anderson, currently a professor of African Diaspora Dance Studies and the MFA coordinator in Dance at The University of Texas at Austin; Liu Yi Feng , an instructor at Beijing Dance/LDTX in China; Scott Putman, a dance professor at Virginia Commonwealth University and the founder of Amaranth Contemporary Dance; and Sunny Shen, a founding member of ZiRu Productions and an independent artist based in Beijing and San Francisco.

Through artistic collaborations like these, Philein/ZiRu Productions serves its misson to build a cross-cultural bridge between the US and China. "Seeking Resolve" approaches the passage of time with tributes to beginnings, endings, and the depth of what can emerge in the middle.
