About the Works: Movement artist Julie Caffey's new solo "Alpha-brick" is an elliptical abecedarian in which Caffey channels various characters who weigh in on the architecture of memory in alphabetical order. Jessica Damon explores the indirect nature of the choreographic process as her dancers stuff their mouths with marshmallows, hum the Beatles, and tromp through the mental muck wearing flippers. Where the celtic cliffs meet the sea, Erin Derstine's six dancers dive into underwater eddies and stomp sand into glass. Inviting the night dreams of the city into her performance space, Ara Glenn-Johanson engages Jerzy Grotowski's plastiques to create imagined worlds and unseen beings. Deaf choreographer Antoine Hunter's modern Urban Jazz piece is inspired by Dante's Inferno and set on twelve dancers. Leigh Riley's duet is inspired by and dedicated to a dear friend and love whom she has lost.
