The evening's performance will feature renowned musicians and dancers from Bali, I Made Arnawa and Emiko Saraswati Susilo, artists-in-residence for the Fall 2009 season. They will lead the group’s performers in the presentation of a wide range of Balinese styles and genres, from the stately movements of a temple dance to the resplendent outbursts of giant bamboo jegog. The two different Balinese gamelan orchestras—percussion orchestras of bamboo, gongs, metallophones, and drums—will be accompanied by the delicate movements of Balinese dance.
