Cardinalidae is a new company to the Bay Area. The primary focus of the company is to produce performances that give audiences a social and new twist on a common experience. Cardinalidae puts their own spin on adventures like hiking or canoeing down a river to expose modern dance in its most raw form. Another aspect of the company will be working with the social drive of San Francisco’s nightlife. In order to attract a larger audience for our outdoor adventures some of the Cardinalidae members will perform at nightclub venues to excite audiences less likely to acknowledge modern dance.Cardinalidae was established in May 2010 by Jessie Cosentino in Kalamazoo, MI. Jessie received her BFA from Western Michigan University in April 2009. She then moved to New York where she co-founded TrioDance Collective, a collaborative dance company. Jessie is finding her home on the west coast and is excited to bring the beauty of the San Francisco Bay to modern dance.
