José Ivan Ibarra and Pete Litwinowicz, artistic directors, incorporate theatrical and film elements in their work. Strong performance skills, in addition to solid technique, are a must. Dancers need to be available to rehearse most Saturday afternoons, 3:00-5:30pm, and Wednesday nights, 7:30-9:30pm. We will be rehearsing from January 14 through the concert date. Also required is attendance at the tech rehearsals, May 28- 30, from noon to 6:30pm, and for the dress rehearsal and show dates, 6:00pm to 11:00 pm, May 31-June 3. Performances are paid. José Ivan Ibarra and Pete Litwinowicz came together to form Dance Continuum SF in January 2007, and are co-artistic directors of the troupe. “Continuus” is a Latin word that translates to “connected together” or “uninterrupted,” and both meanings describe the way Pete and Jose feel about dance; something that brings us closer together via an unending spirituality and physicality. DCSF serves as an exciting outlet for their distinct styles, and a way to capitalize on their synergy as artists. Both José and Pete seek to create theater and dance pieces that reveal something about us as individuals, and as contributors of a larger community. It is hoped that audiences should see something of themselves in the dances being viewed. DCSF has shown work in San Francisco at CounterPULSE, Dance Mission and at YBCA Novellus Theater. We have taken part in the WestWave Dance Festival and shown work outside of the SF Bay Area in Austin, Texas. For more information, contact email@example.com.
