The ODC School Audition Series brings dancers and choreographers together in a class context. Dancers may use class cards or pay a $14 drop in fee ($1 cash discount). Come early to fill out audition forms and bring a resume & headshot if you have them.

Samantha Giron Dance Project (SGDP) is hiring company members for local spring performances and summer tour. SGDP seeks 2-3 dancers with strong modern/ballet training who are at home with street dance and are excited to perform in alternative venues as well as proscenium theaters. Desire to contribute to choreographic process is a must. SGDP is a prolific company and is in need of company members who love to perform often. Stipend is provided for all performances and gigs. Rehearsals begin in March 2012 and take place on Monday and Friday mornings.
Samantha Giron Dance Project utilizes a blend of contemporary and street dance to create performances about social issues, such as sexuality, marriage, and breaking from tradition. Samantha Giron earned an MFA in Choreography\Dance from Cal Arts – where she received extensive experience collaborating with other artists. She has been creating and touring with sound designer Ken Christianson since 2005. Giron draws influence from her many years as a member of the underground electronic music community and often collaborates with professional art makers from this world. These collaborations have resulted in performances at Burning Man, The Mezzanine, Supper Club, and 1015 Folsom.
Giron is an artist in residence at Dance Ground Keriac and has been awarded the Zellerbach Grant to support the creation of’ “Aperture”, which will debut at Kunst-Stoff Arts in January 2012. She has presented at Z Space, Cowell Theater, ODC, and LACMA, and has been invited to perform at festivals curated by Joan Lazarus, Yannis Adoniou, Julie Phelps, Kimi Okada, and Keith Hennessey. She has brought her work on tour through the Southwest and Europe, where collaborated with German sound and video designers. She is a professor at De Anza College.
