Aura Fischbeck Dance (AFD) is looking for 3-5 male or female dancers with strong contemporary training and performance experience, who enjoy generous collaboration, a playful and curious creative process, and have a pension for experimentation. Dancers will work on the first phase of a new project which will premier at the Garage, March 9-10 and 16-17, 2012, after which, work on the piece will continue with the goal of creating an evening length work, that will be performed toward the end of 2012 or early 2013. Performances will be paid. Rehearsals at this time will not be paid, but may be in future, financial support pending. Starting in Jan 2012, dancers will rehearse either Wednesday 10-12:30pm or Friday 10-12:30pm, and either Saturday or Sunday for 2-3 hours between 12-5pm.
Called "fierce and expressively pliant" in the SF Bay Guardian and "lusciously danced, with a wonderful sense of spontaneity" in the DanceView Times, Aura Fischbeck Dance creates physically and intellectually rigorous contemporary dance work which investigates and communicates the bodies intelligence and reflects the complexity of the contemporary human experience. Formed in 2008, AFD has performed nationally in festivals and shared programs including 3 home seasons. For more info visit: www.aurafischbeck.com.
