Introducing basic theories from physics into a movement based experience giving the dancer an opportunity to understand the interplay between the internal architecture of the body that makes up their skeletal system, muscle system, connective tissues networks and the Physics of Motion. Uniting understanding between the internal worlds that make up the human body and the external world that drives that body into motion can enhance perceptual awareness of this constant interaction. This interaction or interplay composes experiential history that becomes embodied making your body the evidence of all you have experienced in the past as well as evidence of all that is yet-to-come. "The Physics of The Moving Body" combines theory and practice for dancers who are interested in advancing their movement research by moving, not just theorizing about moving.

Holly Johnston’s company LEDGES AND BONES (LAB) is a collection of contemporary dance artists collaborating to create original choreography through a rigorous process of improvisation, experimentation and repetition.  For more information about Holly and LAB, please visit
