The ODC School Audition Series brings dancers and choreographers together in a class context. Dancers may use class cards or pay a $14 drop in fee.
Sunday, May 22, 2011 3 - 6pm
Katie Faulkner is seeking 15-20 dancers for a site-specific piece along the Market Street corridor in the fall of 2011. Performers should possess a high level of modern/contemporary technique as well as a comfort with partnering, theatricality, improvisation, movement generation, and the use of the voice in performance. Performers should also be comfortable generating movement material and working within a highly collaborative creative process.
The work will be rehearsed both on site and in studio settings in San Francisco for an intensive period between August and September. Rehearsals will likely be two days/week in August building to three days/week in September. Please only audition if you are available for the following rehearsal and performance times.
Rehearsal and Performance Schedule August: Tuesdays 3-6:00 & Thursdays 3:30-6:30 September: Tuesdays 3-6:00, Thursdays 3:30-6:30, and Sunday 7-9:00 Performance Dates: Sept. 29, 30 and October 1, 2, 7, 8, & 9
Performances will be paid but not rehearsals.

Katie Faulkner, founder and artistic director of little seismic dance company, has been making dances and dance films in the Bay Area since 2002. She has received numerous commissions and awards for her work including the Isadora Duncan Dance Award for her 2008 dance film, LOOM, and, recently, the top prize in The A.W.A.R.D. Show! 2011: San Francisco. She has received generous support for her work from the Shawl-Anderson Dance Center A.I.R. program, the Djerassi Resident Artists' program, the Marin Headlands Center for the Arts, the Maggie Allesee National Center for Choreography, Theater Bay Area CA$H, the Zellerbach Family Foundation, the Rainin Foundation, the San Francisco Arts Commission, and she is a current artist-in-residence at ODC Theater.
