Inside ODC serves as a preliminary audition to ODC/Dance. It is an excellent way to experience ODC's movement style and be introduced to the creative working process, which for over 40 years has been characterized by its intellectual scope and physical challenges. During this week you will work closely with the ODC dancers and artistic directors, learn technique, read and discuss articles on dance and art, perform repertory and build choreographic studies with the ODC dancers. On Thursday evening, July 28, you are invited to join us for a dance performance at a local theater (tickets approximately $15). The final day of the workshop, Friday, July 29, will culminate in an informal performance by participants and ODC dancers of material learned and generated during the workshop. All dancers are welcome to invite friends and family to join us for this special performance opportunity at Studio B in the ODC Dance Commons. Reception will follow the performance in the lobby.

Application process:

1. Completed Video Audition Form
2. Video excerpt on DVD depicting your technical and performance skills. The DVD you send us can be of a performance or of a rehearsal, should feature you and not exceed 3 minutes in length (or you can identify a 3 minute time coded segment). Professional quality documentation is not required; visibility, however, is very important. We recommend you show strength and power: (jumps and traveling) coordination, performance quality, your natural talent and partnering (if possible). If your excerpt includes duet or group performances, you must identify yourself so that we know which dancer to watch.
3. $10 non-refundable application processing fee. Make checks payable to ODC/Dance; do not send cash.

Resumes and photos are welcome but not required for acceptance. DVD's will not be returned unless you enclose a return self-addressed envelope with adequate postage.

Cost: $425. Dancers who are accepted need to send their non-refundable deposits ($200) by June 15 to confirm their reservation. The remainder of the workshop tuition ($225) is due on Monday, July 25, the first day of the workshop.

June 1: Notification of acceptance
June 15: Dancer response deadline, non-refunable deposit submitted
