Colette Eloi is artistic director of El Wah Movement Dance Company, which means movement of the soul. The company performs African Diaspora fusion and Haitian traditional dance. Ms. Eloi is a commissioned choreographer who has presented work throughout the Bay Area, nationally and internationally, in dance Festivals like Black Choreographers - Here and Now and ODC's "The New Traditionalists." The company has performed in Haiti at the National School of the Arts, and in Ghana, at "The Door of no Return." Ms. Eloi was given the honor of choreographing "A Living Birthday Card" for Katherine Dunham’s memorial, which included 98 of Ms. Dunhams dancers from across the country. El Wah Movement is rooted in tradition, aka funk, yet contemporary in its execution and scope.
